Spa Glossary
Spa Break Glossary
A spa break can be a little daunting at first, especially if you’re new to the spa scene. That’s why at Luxury-spa-breaks.com we have put together a glossary of the different options available to make your choice that little bit easier. Unlike many of our competitors, we have carefully placed the different spa venues into different categories such as day spa, hotel spa or health farm spa retreat (coming soon) to make it easier for you to find your luxury spa breaks. The different types of spas can be seen below.
A spa hotel is where luxury facilities of a hotel combine with spa facilities. As a minimum the spa at spa hotels will include treatment and beauty rooms, an indoor swimming (or hydrotherapy) pool, a sauna, steam room and gym. However at the majority of our spa hotel venues you will find many more fantastic facilities in the spa, including outdoor hot tubs, relaxation rooms, outdoor terraces, Jacuzzis, hydrotherapy pool, foot baths, experience showers and sanarium. Plus, at a spa hotel you will find luxurious bedrooms and often award-winning restaurants to look forward to – with the majority of our venues your evening dinner is included in your price. You will find the staff courteous, friendly and knowledgeable about the spa products.
Spa hotels are a great way to be introduced to the spa experience, especially as most of our spa hotels are near places of interest whether they are nearby towns or tourist attractions, making them perfect for a weekend getaway.

Health Farm & Spa (coming soon to Luxury-spa-breaks.com)
A health farm or health spa is where you can truly relax and leave every day life behind in an environment designed purely for you to do so. Guests often wander around in their robe all day from spa facility to spa facility in the relaxing ambience that a health spa provides. A health farm or health spa is the perfect way to rejuvenate even the most jaded of spirits or help you on or through a detox of any kind.
Unlike spa hotels where you will, at most of our venues, find award-winning restaurants, a health farm or health spa will give you a range of delicious food from healthy options through to dishes full of mouth-watering flavour.
